DESIGN TECHNOLOGY - Vehicles

Our Design and Technology topic this half term is Vehicles’ and it links to our History topic of ‘Significant People and Transportation’.

Your task for the next two weeks is to design and make your own 3D vehicle model!

There is a ‘Vehicle Design Booklet’ attached below that you need to complete. If you cannot print it off then write/draw in your home learning booklet instead. Do not rush this work, please take your time over the two weeks and do what you can as and when you have the time.

Take a look at these pictures. There are lots of examples here of different 3D vehicle models that you could make. Think about the materials that you will need. What materials have you got at home that you could use? Cereal boxes and tissue boxes make a great sturdy base. How will you join sections together? Masking tape works well.

Do you need some more ideas?

Click here for a video on ‘How to make a cardboard tube rocket ship’.

Click here for a video on ‘How to make an aeroplane using a plastic bottle’.

We can’t wait to see your finished work. Don’t forget to email over a photograph of your model.

Just for Fun!

Enjoy watching this Cbeebies video (click here) where Catie looks at lots of amazing machines. This week we will be learning all about sailing vehicles.
