Home Learning w/c 13th July 2020

HOME LEARNING PACKS

If you have requested an additional home learning pack the other week, please collect it from the school conservatory if you haven't done so already. This week's pack is labelled "Week 9".

This is the last week of Home Learning packs. There is a summer activity pack ready to be picked up from the conservatory.

ONLINE LEARNING

I know some of you would like to continue using the online work that we have been setting, so we're including the links to the daily White Rose Maths and First News Activities too. Please feel free to continue with the home packs or online learning resources. Your choice. I wonder if any of you would like to do both.

If you click on the hyperlink, it should take you to the correct place or you can download the files below. I'll also try to email the documents to you. Any problems, please let me know.

MATHS (week 12): (Look at Y3 work first if you feel like you need a bit of revision)

          Y3= capacity and data handling

          Y4= symmetry and co-ordinates

(Worksheets and answers attached)

Y3 White Rose Maths                          (see Y3 BBC Maths for additional useful videos)

Y4 White Rose Maths                          (see Y4 BBC Maths for additional useful videos)

(I know some of you are using Carol Vorderman’s “The Maths Factor” site and if you’d prefer to carry on with that, that's OK.)

ENGLISH

This week's edition of First News 734 is also attached. As you will know by now, it makes excellent reading material and it really is jam-packed with news. I love the 20 Things to Know and Tell. It gives you so much information about what’s going on in the World. There’s also the First News Comprehension, a Crossword and Mystery News.  You can also access some different content on the First News website: https://live.firstnews.co.uk/

Don't forget to read daily for 20+ mins.

Additional daily work ("IF" wanted): (Again, look at Y3 work first if you feel like you need some revision)

    Y3 BBC Daily English

    Y4 BBC Daily English

HANDWRITING

Look at https://www.teachhandwriting.co.uk/cursive-joins-choice-3.html to see the video clips on how to form letters and joins correctly. Practise the letters you are still struggling with. Don't forget to try to keep your letters a consistent size, with short letters short and tall letters tall.

SPELLING

Click here to see the list of all statutory words children in Y3 & Y4 should know. Try to concentrate on these words please. You can also practise your spelling patterns here

NumBots  (Use the same login details for TTRockstars. Let me know if you’ve forgotten your username or password and I’ll email them to you)

PHSE

Have a look at this week's kindness calendar which is all about the weather and the planet.. Think about ways you can be kind to each other, the world and yourself.

I’ve included a lot of information here. Please don’t feel that you have to do it all. Just do the work at your own pace, try to do some each day and choose the worksheets that you feel are most appropriate. You might want to do some of the work from the pack and some that I’ve included here. As always, just do your best.

Please let me know if you are running out of supplies i.e. pens, pencils, work books and we will try to get things to you ASAP. Likewise, if you have any questions, please email me at lyndsey.cashman@kirkbyce.co.uk and I'll do my best to help.

This is the last week of our academic year so it seems a good point to acknowledge how much I've enjoyed teaching Class 6, whether in class or remotely.

Take care, stay safe and keep in touch.
