Tuesday

Phonics – Take a look at the phase 2 sounds attached below. Do you know the letter names and letter sounds? Can you remember the actions?

Power of Reading (Literacy) – Think about the Christmas holiday and New Year. Now that we have started 2021, what would you like to get better at this year? It might be that you would like to learn to ride a bike? Write your name? Discuss with your grown up or draw a picture and label in the star attached (or your own paper).

Maths – How many different ways can we count to 6? Can you jump 6 times? Find 6 objects in your house? Count 6 on your fingers forward and back? Write number 6?

Wednesday

Phonics - Click on the link to play ‘Buried Treasure’. Press the button ‘Revise all phase 2 sounds’. Can you segment and blend the sounds on the coin to read the word? Is it a ‘real’ word or is it a ‘nonsense’ word? Put it in the treasure chest or in the bin to see if you are correct!

Think about and discuss with your grown up, what can you see? What can you hear? What do you think you would feel if you touched the ground? What would the weather be like? Would you like to live there?

Power of Reading (Literacy) – Think about clothes that you would wear in hot and cold places. You can use your own paper or the template provided here. Draw and label items of clothing where you think they belong (eg. gloves, flip flops, scarf etc).

Maths – How many different ways can we count to 8? Can you jump 8 times? Find 8 objects in your house? Count 8 on your fingers forward and back? Write number 8?

Power of Reading (Literacy) – Think about what creatures might live in the snow. What could they eat? What would they look like? Do you know any animals that live in cold places? (characters from films eg. Frozen?). Discuss with your grown up or you can draw and label your ideas.

Maths – How many different ways can we count to 9? Can you jump 9 times? Find 9 objects in your house? Count 9 on your fingers forward and back? Write number 9?
