Our Class Learning Journey - Autumn 2

Maths

In Maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We enjoyed making 2D shapes using sticks from our school woodlands.

We have also been developing our multiplication and division skills, by counting in 2s, 5s and 10's.

English

In English, our book for the half term was Jack and the Flumflum Tree by Julia Donaldson.

We developed our letter writing skills, by replying to Granny's letter. 

The children also enjoyed thinking about what they would need to pack for a trip by writing a list using commas and creating the items using lego.

Science

In Science we have been investigating how germs spread. We conducted a science experiment using bread. The children enjoyed observing the changes over time and comparing them to their predictions.

Design Technology 

In Design Tecnology we have been developing our market research skills, product development and evaluation skills by tasting a variety of soup, designing our own soup, designing the packaging for the soup, making and evaluating our own vegetable soup.

History

In History we have been learning about important historical figures including Florence Nightingale. The Children were shocked by the conditions of the Scutari Hospital.
