Happy Easter, Class 4

Happy Easter | Stephen Green Associates

I hope the Easter bunny can manage to call by your house today but I understand it’s been a bit difficult this year so he may not have been able to pick up his regular supplies and get everything he wanted to you. Don’t be too upset if you don’t get as much as you would normally. If, on the other hand, you get too much, I know someone who could help you eat it.

I’m hoping I get some chocolate as I gave up chocolate AND sweets for Lent this year. I have to admit, it’s been really tough to not give in to temptation but I’m so glad I managed to do it. Mr Mawson and I both gave sweets up this year and we did it for the WHOLE of Lent (no sneaky weekend snacks for us) so we’ll both be tucking in to a bag of Haribo as soon as we can!! And I’m really hoping someone has got me some chocolate!!!!!!

Today is Easter Sunday so it’s a day that we can especially think about the real reason for Easter. Christians would normally be in church today celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and saying:

☆ Thought for the Day – He is Risen Indeed! ☆ | The Safe Harbor

Did you manage to see the video link I sent you on Good Friday?

EASTER STORY

We would have been performing our songs and readings at St Chad’s last week and Year 3 children would have been performing their very first performance piece on the recorder and I would have had goosebumps because I’d have been so proud. You had all done so well with your recorders especially considering we had only had about 6 lessons. Did you take your recorders home with you? I wonder if you can still remember Hot Cross Buns. Can Year 4 children remember it from last year?  Play it for your family. They’ll love it!! (Parents can thank me later)

So, what have you been up to this last week? Did you think about your Holy Week diary? Did you do any Easter activities? Have you been in contact with friends and family? Did you go out again on Thursday evening to clap NHS and care staff? I went outside in my road and it was good to show our support. I was happy to get out of the house for a little while because I hadn’t been out for weeks!! I was very careful to keep my distance so I just stayed near my front path. It was lovely to see our neighbours again though and we chatted across the road. They were all really surprised by how much my hair has grown. I may put a picture on here for you. It’s rather messy as my curls are starting to come back but at least I’m not bald anymore.

If you’re reading this message this morning, there’s still time to get your entry in for the Easter artwork competition. It needs to be in by 12.00 if you’d like to enter. You can email it to me at [email protected]  or tweet it to the school’s special twitter account https://twitter.com/KceSafe and we’ll get it uploaded to the school website. Remember, there are prizes to be won.

Hasn’t the weather been lovely? I hope you get to play and relax in your garden as being outside is really good for our mental health. Miss Parr in Class 2 has been busy planting seeds in her garden. I sat in my back garden yesterday and read. I fell asleep but don’t tell anyone!!

My youngest daughter, Charlotte, is in her last year of doing a dance degree but she’s at home now writing her dissertation. She tried to teach me and my other daughter, Beth, a dance routine yesterday but I didn’t do very well. Sadly, I can’t dance at all. We can’t all be good at everything! We had fun though and we did a bit of exercise and that’s more important.

I would love to hear how you’re getting on so it would be great if you could get an adult to send me a message at [email protected] .

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter and continue to stay safe, have fun and relax. You have all worked hard inside and outside of school so enjoy this break. You are often thought of and I hope you continue to look after each other.

God bless

Mrs Williams

A little notes to the Parents and carers:

Well done!! You are amazing. It has been wonderful to see how you have all responded to the challenge of home schooling. Thank you for sending photos of your children taking part in a range of learning and Easter activities.

Happy Easter

Love

Mrs Williams
