COMPUTING
Computing at Kirkby CofE
At KCE, we are committed to providing pupils with the digital skills and knowledge they need to thrive in an ever-changing technological world. Since Autumn 2021, we have been using Purple Mash to deliver our Computing curriculum across all year groups, following a carefully planned Cycle A and Cycle B structure.
Our two-year rolling programme ensures full curriculum coverage and progression in key areas such as coding, online safety, data handling, digital literacy, and creative media. Each unit is designed to build on prior learning, helping pupils develop confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills in a digital context.
Purple Mash provides an interactive, engaging learning environment that allows pupils to explore computing both in school and at home. This helps to strengthen the home–school connection, giving families the opportunity to see and celebrate their child’s learning journey.
Feedback from pupils, staff, and parents has been overwhelmingly positive. Children particularly enjoy the hands-on, creative nature of lessons, while teachers value the clear structure and resources that support high-quality teaching and assessment.
