Welcome To School

GOODBYE YEAR 6, THANKS PARENTS AND SEPTEMBER ARRANGEMENTS
Well that was an unusual school year to say the least!! Definitely not what we planned and one where we have all learnt so many new skills and over-come many challenges. Huge thanks to the wonderful mums, dads and grandparents who have undertaken the role of home teachers and managed to keep the children accessing valuable learning materials, both online and in the work packs we have sent home. You have done a fantastic job and are no doubt looking forward to the summer break too! Don't forget the well-being packs are available to collect from the conservatory at the back of school. There is one for every child and may help your child with any anxieties they may have about returning to school in September; there's also some fun activities to do during the summer holidays. (School will be open until 24th July to collect).
It was such a shame that we all weren't able to celebrate Year 6's time in school with our usual send off, but we did at least manage an outdoor McDonalds lunch and a small assembly where we presented them with their bibles, certificates and a memory stick full of films and photos of their time at KCE. Good luck Year 6, we hope to invite you all back when we can for a proper send off.
It's also been so sad that we weren't able to enjoy our normal summer activities such as Sports Day and our fantastic Greenfields Festival. Fingers crossed we will be able to make up for it next summer. Hopefully, you have all received via the app and emails your child's class report and a letter stating which class they are in next year. If not, they can be found under the news items on the website. Later in the summer holidays, we will send you a short film that you can show to the children about their return to school and what it looks like now.
Finally, I’d like to say a personal thank you to the wonderful staff at Kirkby CE who have worked tirelessly since March 20th, providing keyworker provision on a daily basis (including holidays), provided home learning resources, updated their class pages weekly, emailed, rung and video conferenced children, made class films, delivered learning packs home and delivered food parcels weekly to families who are struggling.
Thank you for your on-going support, and your many kind words and gifts at the end of term, they are truly appreciated. As ever, if there is anything that school can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact myself on email@example.com or telephone 07395763866.
Have a fantastic summer holiday, I hope the sun comes out to play soon and that you manage some quality family time together. No doubt September will bring further challenges, but by working together we can meet them.
Stay well and stay safe.
