Recount of week 7 of home schooling

Date: 8th May 2020 @ 9:45pm

Hi Reception,

Well done to all of you who entered the video competition but especially Lucas for winning the competition.  Hope you have all had a lovely week and enjoyed VE Day.  I know some of you decorated your house, some of you got dressed up and some made cakes and had an afternoon tea party.

This week we have continued with the horse jigsaw and have been making games up.

First we made up our own snakes and ladders using chalk on the pavement.  We made it very difficult to win as there were lots of snakes and miss a turn squares.  It took an hour to play one game.  We played two games.

Next we were inspired by Mary Poppins and drew pictures on the pavement just as Bert done.  Then we jumped on them and had to make a story up.  Can you make a story up using the jelly fish picture or the sea horse picture?

Then we completed an outdoor scavenger hunt after Milly loved the indoor one last week. I made up a list and we had to gather the items and the first to collect all the items was the winner.  Milly won again.

After that grandad thought up a new game.  We used 4 plant pots of different sizes and each pot was worth different points.  They were placed under our garden table.  We had to roll a bouncy ball along the table to try and get it to fall through the middle (the hole where the umbrella goes) and hopefully land in a plant pot.  It was very hard to get the ball to fall down the hole but then sometimes it bounced in a pot and then out.  You only scored if it landed in the pot.  We have played this a lot this week as it is so much fun.

Next we played “What am I?” but without the head bands.  We made up things and then took turns to describe what is on the card.  What am I?   I am yellow, sphere, hot and high up?

Finally for VE day we built a castle, went in the paddling pool and then had a BBQ.

I would love to hear your news and see some of your pictures.  Perhaps you can do the same things as us.  Please email any pictures or if you want to tell me anything or ask any questions my email is [email protected]

Remember, to stay safe, stay home, wash your hands, and be good.
