Recount of week 1 of home schooling

Date: 1st Apr 2020 @ 9:07pm

Hi Reception,

I hope you are all safe and being good for your mums and dads.  This is my first blog ever and I’m very excited about writing it.  I thought I would share with you what my family and I have been doing whilst we have been off school so far.

First we planted some Chia seeds and have watched them grow over the last couple of days.  Milly has drawn pictures each day to record how the seed has grown and changed.

Then we made a den outside using equipment from grandad’s shed.  We had to make sure there was enough space for Milly and Austin.  Can you see him hiding?

Next we found some wall paper in the loft and rolled it out in the garden and made marks, pictures and doodled.

After that we made cakes.  We measured and mixed the ingredients and whisked until the mixture was creamy.  Milly and Austin filled the cupcakes with the mixture and after they were cooked in the oven, they decorated them.  We made 16 cakes and there are 4 of us, how many did we eat each?  Milly worked the answer out on paper drawing the cakes and the people.

Next we made mud pie, mud pizza and mud cake.  The mud cake tasted better than the cooked cakes.

Then we played dolls and pushed the baby around the house in her pram.  We even dressed the baby and fastened buttons.

Finally we watched Chester Zoo live.  Milly loves elephants, Austin loves monkeys and I liked the penguins.  We made an information book on what we knew about our favourite animal.

I would love to hear your news and see some of your pictures. I miss you all.   Perhaps you can do the same things as my family and I.  Please email me some pictures or if you want to tell me anything or ask any questions my email is [email protected]

Remember, to stay safe, stay home, wash your hands, and be good.
