Maths and English
Please complete some more worksheets from your work booklets that were collected from school last week. Finish off any pages in Book 1 and then start Book 2 when you are ready. There is a lot of work in these, so only do what you feel you are able to.
Topic
This week we are continuing with our topic ‘Oceans and Continents’. There are 5 oceans in the world. Your task this week is to learn the names of the 5 Oceans and to be able to find them on a world map.
- Use this short verse to help you learn the names of the Oceans.
Listen to the tune of Frere Jacque here https://youtu.be/6-JoTos8-oE
(Sing it twice, stop at 34secs)
- Find the Oceans using this map (or a globe if you have one at home).
- Use the ‘Oceans of the World’ sheet found in your work pack to put the correct number against the correct ocean. Or you may wish to print off the attached ‘5 Oceans of the world sheet’ and label them.
- Challenge – can you find where we live on your ‘Map of the World’ (remember when we did this with our big floor map in class), which big ocean is closest to the United Kingdom?
Science
This week I’d like you to think about the big habitat ‘Deserts’
I’d like you to make a desert picture. You could cut and stick or draw your own.
These plants and animals have special features to help them to survive in the desert.
Write some sentences to describe what they have.
