Maths and English

Please complete some more worksheets from your home learning work booklets that were collected from school. Finish off any pages in Book 1 and 2 and then start Book 3 when you are ready. There is a lot of work in these, so only do what you feel you are able to.

Topic

This week we are continuing with our topic ‘Oceans and Continents’. You have already looked at the 5 Oceans in the World. Can you remember the names of all 5 Oceans? There are 7 Continents in the world. Your task this week is to learn the names of the 7 Continents and to be able to find them on a world map.

  • Watch this short clip to help you learn the names of the Continents.

  • Can you spot the 7 Continents using this map? You could use a globe if you have one at home.

  • Use the ‘Continents of the World’ sheet attached to label each of the 7 Continents on the blank World map.
  • Challenge – Do you know which Continent we live in? Can you find it on your ‘Continents of the World' map? Remember when we did this with our big floor map in class.

 Science

This week I’d like you to think about the big habitat The Arctic’.

I’d like you to make an Arctic picture. You could cut and stick or draw your own.

These plants and animals have special features to help them to survive in the Arctic. Write some sentences to describe what they have.
