Topic
VE Day
Friday 8th May is a bank holiday because it is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day . This means that if we were in school at the moment then you would be looking forward to an extra long weekend at home.
Do you know anything about VE Day? Maybe you could ask some older people in your family if they can tell you what they know about it. I have included a powerpoint so you can read about it for yourselves.
You could choose to do one of these activities:-
- Make a ‘Thank You Soldiers’ poster to show that we are grateful for all of the sacrifices that they have made and are still making.
- Make your own Union Jack bunting to decorate your house or street.
- All about the number 75! Paint it, draw it, colour it in, make calculations that equal 75, do something for 75 seconds, find page number 75 in a book. What else could you do with the number 75?
- Try solving secret messages using Morse Code. Write messages of your own in Morse code and challenge me to solve them on [email protected]
