Go to 'Summer Term - Week 8 (W/C 15th June)

The worksheets can be downloaded below.

English

Continuing on with our ‘World Ocean’ theme, this week we will be thinking about how people can get together to start creating a better future and protect our oceans.

Your first task is a reading comprehension. Read all about 'Plastic Pollution' very carefully and use the information in the text to answer the questions. Don't forget capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Next, I have uploaded a wordsearch. Can you find all the words linked to World Oceans Day?

Finally, can you label the ocean animals? Use your phonics to help you sound out the tricky ones.

Spelling

Brush up on your Y2 common exception words by completing the activity booklet below.

Reading

Please do keep reading (just like us) whilst you are at home. I'm sure you have read your reading books over and over again but there are plenty of ways to access books online. These links are on our class page under the reading tab. The first is very useful for reading about your favourite interests and hobbies or maybe finding out more about oceans and sea creatures:

Find reading scheme books similar to those we use in school here:

Topic

It is important that we recycle unwanted materials in order to help protect our oceans and all of the living things in them. Read the powerpoints attached. Can you make a poster to warn people about the dangers of littering, and why it is so important to recycle to protect our oceans?

Or maybe you could have a go at using some recycled materials to make new things! Have a look at 16 Things to make and do with your recycling.

I have also attached some sea creatures mindfuless colouring. Take some time to relax and think about how important it is to make sure we do everything we can to save these beautiful creatures.

Please find the adult guidance and answer booklets for the home learning packs attached on this page.
