I hope you are all well. Below are your tasks for this week.
Please remember, do not feel obliged to complete all work set. You have lots to work with and I know being the dedicated children that you are, you are doing your best. These are just additional pieces of work that can be completed at your own leisure. Any questions or problems please do not hesitate to contact me.
Maths Task
This week, your focus is area of rectilinear shapes.
Area is the amount of space inside a 2D shape.
Use the guide on the sheet to help you calculate the areas of various rectilinear shapes.
Tip: Don’t forget those units e.g. Inches, cm, metres etc.
English Task
This week, I would like you to have a go at the VE Day reading comprehension. You will need to read the text about VE Day and answer the questions. Please remember to write your answers in full sentences and remember those capital letters and full stops.

Topic Task
VE Day - or 'Victory in Europe Day' - marks the day towards the end of World War Two (WW2) when fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe came to an end.
On 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio at 3pm that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany's surrender the day before.
Tuesday 8 May, 1945, was an emotional day that millions of people had been waiting for.
This year (8.5.20), it is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.
I have uploaded a PowerPoint below with some information about VE Day in addition to a VE Day Wordsearch.
Activity
Create an informative poster/fact file detailing VE Day.
Some questions to consider:
Why do we celebrate it?
Why does it mean lots to the Country?
Who are we honouring?
