Daily Phonics
It is important to ensure your child keeps practising their phonics sounds daily. Phonics is vital to children’s learning and helps with reading, writing and spelling.
From Monday 23rd March and for the next two weeks, Ruth Miskin will be providing daily ‘Read, Write, Inc’ phonics sessions live on YouTube. Each session will go live at the times below and be available for 24 hours.
Set 1 Speed Sounds – 9.30am and again at 12.30pm
Set 2 Speed Sounds – 10am and again at 1pm
Set 3 Speed Sounds – 10.30am and again at 1.30pm

Below are some links to phonics games. These games are enjoyable. Whilst the children will have great fun playing them, they will also be very beneficial for the children in learning and practising their sounds.

There are many ideas to support delivering daily phonics sessions and lots of advice to support parents in helping their children learn to read. In addition I have provided links below to our own phonics flash cards that the children have been using daily, since September in school. For those parents who attended the Parents into Class Phonics session, you will be aware of how the children use these for speedy recognition.
