Nursery Timetable

Children respond really well to a structured day.  The following is a suggested timetable which may make the day a little smoother.  The activities should be relatively low input from adults as it is important that the children are developing their independence, and that you have time to do the things you need to do daily.

Time of Day Activity

By 9:00 am Dressing independently ( though with some support) Breakfast Dressed Teeth Brushed hair

 9:00 – 10:00 am Physical Activity Tidying Yoga Just Dance Outside time (running, skipping, jumping, climbing, playing with balls, bats etc) .  Try Joe Wicks 9am on YouTube – ½ hr  PE lesson.

10:00 – 10.30 – Story for 15 mins – ask your child before you begin what the story will be about from the picture on the front cover, encourage them to ask lots of questions and anticipate what comes next. Practise counting to 20, writing name, drawing pictures using crayons, chalk

10.30-11am – Break/snack time ask them to make their own snack, washing fruit, buttering toast

11:00 am Home learning pack and see our website for further Home Learning Links.  

For Nursery chn : There is also a great daily stories on www.booktrust.org.uk

12-1pm Lunch time, engage your child in preparing lunch, setting the table or washing the dishes after lunch

1:00 – 1:30pm pm Construction Time NO SCREEN TIME Craft, Lego, Knex, Gravitrax, projects – make something , use gloop, paint with water ( big brush, big bucket ) wash the car, wash the bikes, scooters, make a rainbow

1:30 – 2:00 pm Learning time Online Games- Cbeebies – Come and Play with the Tumbles

2:00 – 2:30 pm Free time/snack

2:30 – 3:15pm  pm Family time - Cooking/baking /Art/Craft/play in the garden/ballon football/ water play (wash the dishes/sort out the washing –who’s socks are these, who’s shoes are these.
