Catching up with Miss Walker 11/05/20

Date: 11th May 2020 @ 2:29pm

Hello Class 8,

How are we all?

I haven’t heard from many of you this week, have we all fallen asleep? I know that the weather definitely made me a bit lazy last week as I was using it as an excuse not to get out but I’m back up and out again this week!

As you all know, it was VE day on Friday, did anyone learn anything new about this day that they didn’t know already? I wonder if anyone did anything special for it or made any decorations. I see that Mrs Williams designed and made invitations for a street party and I have seen lots of decorations on my daily walks, I even made some myself. Did you?

Talking of walks, has everyone been doing their exercise? I have been trying to keep up my walks and occasional bike ride (my legs get too sore to bike ride a lot!), I have been trying to go to different places each time and have found routes that I didn’t even know existed and they are round the corner from me. I went for a walk slightly later than I usually would the other day and I am quite impressed with this picture that I took!

As the weeks go on my attempt to get better at baking/ cooking continues. As you can see from the picture below I didn’t have the best experience when my lemon cake decided to explode on me and my mum definitely wasn’t happy with the state the oven was left, oops! However, here is a picture of some more successful cupcakes that are even smiling, which cheered me up from my bad baking. I will continue to practise and I’m sure Mr Mawson and Mr Tennant will be more than happy to try them out when we are back in school!

I have also been using the TT Rockstars app to practise my times tables and have been sending and accepting challenges off both children and teachers and this has been fun. Let’s see if we can get more of Class 8 on this week and we can continue to challenge the other classes!

I hope that you have been behaving and looking after those around you at home. Remember if you would like to respond to this blog then you can do via [email protected].

Stay safe,

Miss Walker
