Recount of week 8 of home schooling

Date: 15th May 2020 @ 7:39pm

Hi Reception,

Hope you all well and safe.  Have you all checked out the new competition to build a tower 30cm tall which must free stand?  Have a go and either email me or upload to school twitter page.  I have also added 6 science experiments on to reception home learning school webpage, and next weeks learning, all about pirates. Hope you enjoy the activities.   My children and I have been very been this week doing the competition and some of the experiments.

First we are continuing to do our jigsaw, which is proving very difficult but we are not going to give up.  Can you see the horse on the right?

Next we built towers for the competition.

Then we played a game with a pack of cards called ‘Round the Clock’.  (small pack of cards works too)  Put 4 cards out like a clock face and 3 in the middle and start with the remaining card.  Whatever the number says on the card, put in the correct place of the clock face.  If it is a King, it goes in the middle and you pick a new card from the middle.  The idea is to complete the clock face without getting all 4 Kings out.  If all 4 Kings out, you lose.

After that we tried to catch balloons, which is a lot more difficult than catching a ball.

Then Milly and Austin predicted what would dissolve using the science experiment on the home learning web page.  They had so much fun we also made our own dissolving experiment.

Next we done another science experiment from the home learning web page.  We made balloon cars to race them.  Guess which colour car won?  It was the yellow car.

Finally we played bingo.  We actually played 8 games of bingo as Milly loved playing it.

I would love to hear your news and see some of your pictures.  Perhaps you can do the same things as us.  Please email any pictures or if you want to tell me anything or ask any questions my email is [email protected]

Remember, to stay safe, stay home, wash your hands, and be good.
